Four Board Stool
Constrained by the size and qualities of a board of wood, this project involved using rapid prototyping techniques to design and create drawings of a stool to be fabricated by a classmate. In turn, I received drawings from a classmate and fabricated their stool.

Prototyping in Foam
Making 1/4th scaled models in foamcore allowed me to test a variety of ideas out.
I was particularly interested in the possibility of a slight tilt in the form allowing for a more relaxed state of sitting. Height was also a factor I prioritized, so balancing leg height with seat bed area was something I tested in these models.
Designing for assembly
This was especially important to consider since I was passing my designs off to a classmate to craft. The order of assembly, and consideration to tolerances in regards to that had to be very thoroughly fleshed out since we were working with limited material.
